Review: I had read most of the Fudge books when I was in elementary school but had never read this before. Having grown out of the age range for these novels it makes it a little difficult to enjoy sometimes as I can no longer relate to the scenarios. Sure I’ve been through some of the same things but reading about them when you’re going through them and reading about them when you’re old enough to comprehend the full situation are two different things. Still, any Judy Blume book holds its charm and this certainly had plenty.

it would be REALLY cute if one of the mini quests was to help an apartment complex of residents who are being haunted.... not by exorcising the spirits but just. helping them figure out what the ghost pokemon want.

youre not making the apartment complex any less haunted, youre just helping them become better roommates.

i figure the apartment complex could be an old hotel or something that burned down, so the ghosts there were really just the ghosts of old tennants or pokemon who live there and got caught in the fire.

The Best Homemade Brownies Ever

This is my fourth time making the Nestle Tollhouse double fudge brownies. The recipe is really easy. They always come out thick and chewy. A box mix would be quicker, but doesn't come out this thick.

This is my favorite brownie recipe. Its quick once you get going.

Sorry to just drop into this, but another thing to consider with handmade good and the ‘overpriced’ idea is that you also have to factor in how much stock might sell at any given time.

For example, if you make 100 pairs of earrings in a month but might only sell 30 (because you need to give people options etc.) then the profit from those 30 should reasonably cover the time you spent making all 100.

Also, it should pay for the time you spend at craft fairs, replying to any commissions/ purchase requests, packaging time and going to the post office, any online marketing you might do (tumblr posts etc).

Peolle don’t often factor these in when thinking about the value of crafts they buy, which is a bit unfair.

yes there are other overheads but the thing is. basically all of those to some extent also apply to fibre arts

but sure. to be thorough. i spend 10h a week at my market stall and an hour... let's say 2 be generous with it... updating the shop

if i made 50 pairs of earrings and sold 15, the "materials" cost of 1 pair, to cover their unsold breathren, goes from 42p to £1.40

earrings are far from the only thing though, and account for less than half of the sales. so. we can say that about 5h of stall/shop time is covered by those

sale price - materials cost but split over 6 hours of labour instead of 1.5 is still £12 an hour

Around this time of the year I start to think about two things: The sea and David Bowie.

I was thinking about what to do with a bunch of medical prospects my mother gave me to fold origami with.

So, a bunch of conceptual points started to click. I painted some of this prospects with black acrylic painting, with no water on the brush, I wanted to highlight texture and to let a bit of the writing under it to peek from behind the paint.

Then, I folded a star.

Origami in itself is an art of transformation, and in a modular model it’s about separate pieces joining together by their own strenght to hold a singular unity.

Well, I studied Fine Arts, don’t blame me for being pretentious haha.

In the end, I think it’s a piece that speaks for itself. I really like it and I wish to push this kind of ideas further in the future.

Out of universe: Lily’s letter is in Sirius’s room so that Harry can read it with no thought behind why it was in a room Sirius hadn’t set foot in since he was 16, way before Lily would’ve written the letter

In universe: Sirius kept that letter in Azkaban and brought it with him when he escaped and somehow never lost it, his personal belongings were sent to his family after his arrest and they never got rid of them even though they never thought they’d see Sirius again, his family or an Order member went and gathered up all of Sirius’s stuff from wherever the belongings of dangerous criminals are kept (and if it’s the Order that did it, they got it after he escaped Azkaban, so I guess the Ministry or whoever keeps convicted criminal’s stuff over a decade after they’re arrested), Sirius himself went and got the letter even though he was a wanted felon, and presumably some other reasons as well.

oooh i entirely forgot that harry found it much later 💀 it’s v likely sirius could’ve gotten that letter (and his other belongings) from somewhere and kept it in GP himself. i still like the thought of him carrying it w himself always tho hehe just bc it’s utterly heartbreaking.
